ianthe-1969-by-gene-davis-fine-art
Ianthe - 1969 by Gene Davis, Fine Art

The Ianthe - 1969 title points to one of Gene Davis repeated colour band compositions. Painted stripes run across the sheet in a steady line, each band a flat note of colour set beside the next. The work belongs to Gene Davis practice of hard edge color field painting, a method he used for decades.

A metal hanger on the back lets this fine art print go up on a nail or screw right away. You do not need a separate frame. The matte surface keeps the stripe edges soft under indoor light, which suits the flat colour blocks in Ianthe - 1969.

Hang it on the wall at the end of a hall where you pass each day. The long bands draw the eye along the corridor, and the plain paint stays quiet against the woodwork.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0791/0162/4571/files/39991a12-22ea-49c2-8977-2ce7bc2cdf0f.jpg?v=1792329063
