The colour sits in flat layers with hard edges where the paint meets the ground. This belongs to post war British abstract painting, where the artist worked in gestural colour fields.

The paper is matte and holds the flat colour without shine under a lamp. It arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. This is a fine art print made to go on the wall as it is.

In a dining room, the broad colour bands read from the far end of the table. Near the bread bin you see the worked ground and the hard edge where one field meets the next.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0791/0162/4571/files/5bcf140e-5c21-41f9-a00d-4591f593b142.jpg?v=1792467545
