Earth To Earth Ashes To Ashes Dust To Dust by Lawrence Weiner (1970) — Poster

A sequence of words unfolds across the canvas. Earth To Earth Ashes To Ashes Dust To Dust, a conceptual piece by Lawrence Weiner, invites contemplation through language alone. The stark black text on a white background creates a striking contrast. The absence of imagery focuses attention on the weight of the words and their arrangement. The simplicity of the typeface and the repetition of the phrase draw the viewer into a cycle of reflection. This poster suits a study or library, where quiet consideration is already the purpose of the space.
