Nellie Lake — Fine Art

Nellie Lake - 1933 by A.Y. Jackson uses a measured line drawing to place a lake shore on a pale ground. The eye enters along the tree line, then settles on the water plane at the lower right. Most of the sheet stays open.

The fine art print sits on matte paper, so the pale greens and greys stay flat under indoor light. A light frame keeps the drawing apart from a dark wall, and the wood frame joins the furniture nearby.

In a hallway off the kitchen, you notice the tree line first, then the quiet water below it. The drawing reads from the stairs before you reach the landing.
