About this work
The Voice - 1930 shows a single pale form rising from a muted field. The artist works with layered paint to build a quiet shape against a soft ground. The colours sit in low tones, so the form reads calm and still. Agnes Lawrence Pelton made this picture with a steady hand and a simple layout.
The fine art print arrives ready to hang on a nail or screw. A metal hanger is fitted to the back. You place it straight on the wall without a frame. The matte paper keeps the pale tones soft under a lamp.
It fits well in a hall with a narrow wall near the front door. From the landing you see the quiet shape first, and up close you notice the even painted surface.
