About this work
Etendue - 1974 shows a field of paint with broad strokes and a loose look. Bram van Velde built his work with paint laid in sweeping gestures over a ground.
The marks sit in dark tones against softer areas, and the surface holds the movement of the brush. The fine art print reaches the wall ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back, so it goes straight onto a nail or screw.
No frame is needed. Hang it on a stairwell wall where the slope catches the paint strokes from below. From the landing you notice the dark passages and the soft areas together.
