Nine Squares — Poster

Nine squares, each a different size, lock together like a puzzle. Ellsworth Kelly’s *Nine Squares* refuses symmetry yet feels inevitable. The edges meet without gaps, as if gravity pulled them into place. White, ochre, slate, and two shades of gray fill the squares. The largest square anchors the bottom left; the smallest hides in the top right corner. No frame, no background—just nine shapes pressing against each other, their colors bleeding into the white wall behind them. Hang it where the morning light skims the surface.
