About this work
White Black
A black square and a white square sit side by side. This is White Black, a study in contrast by Ellsworth Kelly. The simplicity of the composition belies its complexity, inviting contemplation and introspection.
The stark contrast between the two squares creates a visual tension. The black square, devoid of light, stands in opposition to the white square, pure and luminous. The edges are crisp, the forms precise, a testament to Kelly's mastery of minimalism.
This poster finds its place in a modern living room or a sleek office, where its simplicity can be fully appreciated.
