Cyclamen Pourpre 1912

Cyclamen Pourpre 1912 shows a single purple flower resting on a plain ground. The petals curve inward and the stem reaches up from the base. Henri Matisse painted the form with soft edges and a quiet mood. The image keeps the plant simple and still.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang on the wall. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. No frame is needed. The paper feels flat and the purple tone reads without shine under a lamp.

Seen from across a kitchen table, the flower shape stands clear against a bare wall. Up close the painted outline of the stem stays soft. From the doorway the whole plant sits low on the wall above a chair.
