First Letter - 2009 by Brice Marden shows a narrow vertical band of dark ink standing against a pale ground. The mark sits near the edge and the rest of the page stays open. A single drawn shape holds the picture together.

The fine art print uses a white frame finish. That white edge sits beside the dark band without crowding it. The paper stays matte so the pale ground reads as soft and the dark ink stays deep.
