Leafage and Drops — Fine Art

Leafage and Drops shows leaf shapes and water drops on a plain ground. Jean Arp worked in the Dada movement and used simple organic forms. The shapes sit calmly on the sheet. The marks look drawn by hand and not by a ruler.

The fine art reproduction keeps the soft lines and the quiet spacing of the original. It hangs on a pale wall at shoulder height in a room with steady light. The frame finish can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

It fits above a kitchen table where you see the leaf shapes while you eat. From the doorway you notice the open space around each mark. On the long wall opposite the sink the drops read as small rounds and the leaves as soft curves.
