Palo Alto Circle — Fine Art

Palo Alto Circle by Richard Diebenkorn shows a painted field with soft grey and blue areas beside a darker band of colour. The eye moves across the paper from one block to the next, and the open space holds the weight of the marks.

This fine art print keeps the matte paper surface so the greys stay even and the pencil marks do not disappear. The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

On a hallway wall at shoulder height the colours read from the front door. The darker band draws the eye down the hall and the open paper space gives the step some room. From the landing you notice the drawn lines over the painted ground.
