About this work
Untitled Double Coffee Table - 1971 by Donald Judd shows two rectangular blocks standing side by side on a plain ground. The shapes share the same height and width, set apart with even space between them. The picture belongs to the minimalist art movement and reflects the hard edge geometry Judd used across many years. A fine art print keeps those equal forms clear on the sheet.
The print uses a matte sheet so the solid tones stay even without shine under a lamp. That suits the flat painted planes in this picture, where each block reads as one clean shape.
A hallway wall at the bend holds the print well. From the stair you notice the two rectangles first, then the space between them.
