Untitled SFE 071 shows open fields of colour with thin washes spread across the surface. A pale ground holds the paint, and the shapes leave room around them.

Light touches the surface and the tone shifts without a hard edge. The work sits in the post war abstract tradition, where colour field painting allows the ground to stay open. The print itself is a fine art item on matte paper, so the surface reads softly under indoor light.

The frame follows the room, a light finish on a dark wall or a dark finish on a pale wall, or a wood finish beside wooden furniture. A dining room wall carries it best, with the light coming from the side during dinner. The open ground stays visible and the wash stays calm.
