Yukon Sonata - 1981 holds horizontal colour bands drawn in the stripe practice of Gene Davis. Each band keeps one steady hue and steps across the sheet without change. The overall feel is flat and even, with no visible brush marks.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The white frame gives this picture a clear edge on the wall. The light border does not compete with the painted bands, so the colours stay the main point. You see the line of each band more clearly against that plain finish.

A slim hallway wall works well for this print. From the far end you notice the long run of bands, and near the frame you spot the colour changes between each strip.
