Pocono — Fine Art

Pocono - 1984 by Gene Davis uses painted colour bands that step across the sheet. The stripe width changes and the hues move in one steady direction.

Empty bands sit between the painted marks. The picture reads as a row of colour bands crossing the sheet.

A fine art print on matte paper keeps the paint look soft. The frame follows the room, so a dark frame on a pale wall or a light frame on a dark wall both work. The stripes sit in a quiet hallway where the passing light shifts the tones without glare.
