Armonie di forme contrarie

The title Armonie di forme contrarie - 1935 points to a pairing of opposite forms. Gerardo Dottori built this kind of picture with flat colour planes and straight edges, a habit from his Futurist and aerial landscape practice. Here warm and cool tones sit near each other so the shapes feel separate but joined.

This fine art print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. The matte paper keeps the tones even and takes the glare off the darker bands.

On the wall of a dining room, the bigger colour blocks read first from the table, and the small edge shifts show when you stand by the door.
