Untitled 08.B.0032 — Fine Art

Gunther Forg painted Untitled 08.B.0032 - 2008 on a flat ground with blocks of colour. The picture belongs to the post war painting practice that treats the painted surface as a simple field. One block covers most of the sheet, and a second block runs along the lower edge.

The print arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the soft mid tones from flattening, so the blocks stay distinct when you look at them from a chair. The frame finishes the edge and the back panel keeps the sheet flat.

It fits a kitchen wall above the worktop. From the prep area you see the broad block first, and the smaller band comes into view when you step back. The image stays readable against the tiles and the stove.
