Untitled — Fine Art

Untitled - 2004 shows broad horizontal bands of paint laid down in a steady hand. The marks run across the sheet with a flat even pressure. Gunther Forg worked in this painted field style, and the image stays close to that method. The bands keep their edges without blending into one another.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte sheet holds the flat colour without a shine, so the bands read as they are. The frame gives the print a solid edge and the back panel keeps it flat on the wall.

It fits a hallway wall where you pass it each day. From the door the bands look like stacked colour. Standing close you see the even stroke that runs the full width.
