Untitled Cansons

Broad marks cover much of the sheet in Untitled Cansons, an abstract expressionist work by Gunther Forg. Thick pigment and plain ground sit side by side, following the artist known practice of large painted fields and direct handling of paint.

The fine art print stays matte, so the heavier paint areas read without shine under room light. A light frame suits a pale wall, while a dark frame grounds the same piece on a deeper surface.

It hangs on a bedroom wall beside the bed, where the viewer notices the broad pigment bands first, then the quieter plain areas near the top quarter.
