Hans Hartung sets ink over a clear ground in Untitled - 1982. Thin lines run across the page in one direction. Some marks press hard, some stop early. The work belongs to his late abstract painting practice.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The print keeps those lines plain on matte paper. A light frame on a dark wall makes the ink tones stand out. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the sheet rest in the room. You can see the speed of the hand in the line weight.

It works on a bedroom wall beside a low bed. From the doorway the lines read as one long stroke. Close up you notice the dry brush breaks and the white gaps between marks.
