Maiden Dance — Fine Art

Maiden Dance by Hans Hofmann uses broad areas of colour that the eye follows in a slow path. The coloured forms carry most of the weight while open spaces let the marks breathe. Pushed and pulled colour fields sit side by side on the picture plane.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper holds the soft colour edges without a shine, and the frame hides the raw edge of the sheet.

It fits a narrow dining room wall beside a wooden sideboard. From the gate you catch the large colour blocks, and near the table you notice the small shifts between the tones.
