The Lark

The Lark by Hans Hofmann opens on a field of colour built up with quick painted strokes. The marks move across the sheet and seem to push and pull against each other. A small bird shape is suggested in the middle of that colour field.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paint stays loose and the edges are never hard. From a doorway the colours settle into a single warm field and the painted marks read as a calm surface. The paper feels matte so the paint tones stay flat and there is no shine under a lamp.

The picture arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger fitted to the back. It goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy.
