The Meeting — Fine Art

The Meeting sets a few dark colour blocks next to one another on a flat ground. The painted marks press hard in some spots and thin out in others. Johannes Itten worked with strong contrasts and simple shapes in his Bauhaus lessons, and you can see that same direct hand here.

Hang it on the plaster wall at the end of a narrow hallway. From the front door you read the big painted blocks first, and the uneven brush pressure only appears when you pass by.
