Enigma — Fine Art

Enigma - 1947 by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva rests on a muted ground. Dark lines cross the page in thin layers. Soft grey passages sit between the darker marks. The shift in tone makes the surface feel deep instead of flat. You see the crossing lines first, then the quieter patches behind them.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the grey areas soft and stops bright reflections. The frame gives the image a solid edge so the lines hold their place in a room.

In a study with a wooden desk, the print sits on the wall above the bookshelf. From the desk you see the crossing lines clearly. The soft grey areas stay calm under the lamp light.
