About this work
A palette of imagery - 1944 shows a painted field where warm reds and deep blacks sit close together against a muted ground. The shapes hold their edges and the surface does not blend into one tone. Adolph Gottlieb worked in this style during the post war abstract painting years.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame. The print hangs flat and the metal hanger keeps it level on the wall.
It fits a dining room wall near the table where the warm reds read softly in the evening light. From the doorway you see the broad shapes first, then the small shifts between the dark and lighter areas as you move closer.
