Untitled for Leo Castelli

Untitled for Leo Castelli - 1977 by Donald Judd uses two flat planes of colour set against a plain background. The planes meet along a hard line, and the tones shift from one side to the other.

The picture is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The printed planes keep the solid colour blocks clean and the back panel gives the piece a firm edge when it hangs.

It fits on a narrow kitchen wall. The colour blocks read clearly from the breakfast counter, and the plain ground stays calm under the stove light.
