Waterloo — Fine Art

The painting Waterloo - 1965 by Norman Bluhm sits on the sheet as a field of sweeping brush marks. Broad painted strokes move across the surface in layers of grey and brown. The marks seem to turn and cross over one another, leaving a restless rhythm on the page.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

It hangs on the hallway wall beside a tall coat rack. From the stairs you see the broad painted shapes first, and from the lower step the thin cross strokes come into view.
