Grey and Brown Stripes - 1958 sets broad bands of grey and brown across the page. The tones sit next to each other without blending. A flat wash holds each band. Patrick Heron worked with colour blocks and clean edges in this period.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the greys soft and stops glare under indoor light. The frame surrounds the image and the back panel gives it a firm edge.

It fits a hallway wall near the front door. From the entry you read the broad bands first. The greys stay quiet while the browns warm the corner.
