Celebration — Fine Art

Celebration by Philip Guston uses warm reds and blacks against a pale ground. The paint sits in thick layers and the shapes stay loose. A few dark lines pass through the lighter tones and hold the scene together.

The fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the reds from shining under a lamp and the dark marks stay readable.

It fits on a dining room wall over a sideboard. From the table you see the broad colour blocks, and the small paint ridges show when you pass by.
