Recover — Fine Art

Recover - 2003 by Raoul De Keyser shows a loose brush stroke crossing a soft ground. The mark carries a little pressure at one end and thins out toward the other.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The colour is muted and the paint sits on the surface without smoothing out. The surface here is matte, so the paint stays even and the stroke reads clearly from the side. A white frame gives the picture a plain edge that keeps the eye on the stroke.

The white finish sits close to the colour in the paint and does not pull attention away. It fits a reading corner beside a tall lamp. From the chair you see the stroke first, then the soft ground behind it.
