Turkish 1 May — Fine Art

Turkish 1 May - 2009 shows a plain field with a few marks that run across it. A broad band in a single colour sits toward the lower part. The rest of the sheet stays open. The artist works with a small number of shapes placed carefully on the sheet.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A dark wood edge keeps the field from spilling past the picture. The cut feels even on the wall, and the surface stays flat under the glass.

In a hallway with pale paint, the strip reads first from the landing. You notice the plain tone over the door and the one colour below it. From there the picture holds its place without demanding attention.
