About this work
A pale paper ground holds thin black strokes that step across the sheet in a steady order. Untitled - 1966 shows the kind of drawing Johannes Itten made while teaching colour and form at the Bauhaus. The marks sit apart and do not crowd each other.
Fine art work arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No frame to buy and no separate fitting step. The metal bar keeps the sheet level when you push it up.
It fits a narrow hallway side wall above a coat rail. From the door you catch the pale paper and the dark strokes in a single glance. Near the bench the strokes read as separate cuts across the sheet.
