About this work
On the Points 1928 shows small marks and short lines set across a light ground. The marks stay separate, so the eye moves from one point to the next.
Wassily Kandinsky worked with these kinds of signs and fields of colour in his abstract painting practice. The fine art frame in white or black gives the sheet a clear border.
The clean edge keeps the marks from spreading into the wall. In a study corner, the small points read first on the far side of the room, and the pencil thin lines show when you stand nearer.
