Su-20

A soft band of colour sits across the middle of Su-20 - 1973, with most of the paper left open around it. The eye stops on that flat strip, then moves to the quiet edges. Wojciech Fangor worked with measured colour fields in this way.

The print is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. Paper this matte keeps the flat band from shining, so the broad areas stay plain under a lamp.

On a kitchen wall near the sink, the wide empty areas let the room feel uncluttered. You notice the single colour band first, then the open paper beside it.
