Alma Woodsey Thomas
Alma Woodsey Thomas was an African-American abstract painter who developed her signature mosaic-like patterns of colour, creating joyful, rhythmic works inspired by nature and space exploration. She was the first Black woman to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum.
