Tarsila do Amaral
Tarsila do Amaral was a Brazilian painter and a founding figure of the Brazilian Modernist movement, celebrated for her iconic Abaporu painting - a solitary giant figure on a vast landscape - and her Antropofagia series that fused European modernism with native Brazilian imagery and the Anthropophagic cultural manifesto. She is the most important Brazilian artist of the 20th century.
