01 02 1997 1997 — Fine Art

Soft washes of blue and grey drift over the surface of 01 02 1997 1997. The paint spreads in layers, leaving thin edges where one colour meets another. These broad strokes make up the artist approach of Zao Wou-Ki. The surface feels open and calm.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed. The hanger holds the sheet flat so the soft edges of the paint stay even when the print is on the wall.

It fits a bedroom wall above a narrow bed. From the doorway you see the pale blue wash first, and the grey bands sit lower on the wall. The metal hanger keeps it level without a frame. The room stays quiet around it.
