About this work
The work #14 - 1964 sits on the paper as a set of soft bands that shift in tone. The artist layered thin colour to build the field. Wojciech Fangor worked with this kind of measured colour study. The picture reads as a quiet change of tone rather than a drawn line.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the soft bands from catching a lamp shine, so the tone shifts stay even.
It fits on a hallway wall near the stairs. From the landing you see the broad colour bands, and on the way past you notice the slow shift from one tone to the next.
