A Wall Built... — Fine Art

A Wall Built... - 2008 sets a phrase against a plain field. The text sits in the middle, steady and unadorned. Lawrence Weiner puts language into the picture, so the words do the work. From across the room the letters read clearly. Up close you see the flat tone behind them.

This fine art print uses a matte surface, so the letters stay flat and the white stays soft under a lamp. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A clean edge sits around the text and keeps the letters from drifting off the sheet.

It hangs in a study corner over a desk. The desk is pushed away from the wall. You see the phrase first, then the frame edge, then the wall behind.
