About this work
Abstract Colour Harmony in Squares with Vermillion Accents 1924 by Paul Klee sets a grid of coloured squares against a pale field. Vermillion blocks sit among blue and yellow patches, and the lines between them feel hand drawn. The picture belongs to the Bauhaus period, when Klee tested colour relationships on flat surfaces.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need a separate frame. The matte surface keeps the vermillion accents from shining, so the colour blocks read as flat shapes.
Hang it on a bedroom wall near the bed. From the bedside you see the grid of squares and the red accents first, and the smaller marks fade into the background.
