Admiralty Sound, Tierra Del Fuego — Fine Art

Admiralty Sound, Tierra Del Fuego shows a narrow water passage between dark mountains. Rockwell Kent uses strong black lines and flat colour areas to build the scene.

The cold blue water sits under heavy sky forms that press down on the shore. This belongs to the graphic print tradition of the early twentieth century. The fine art print hangs on a wall with plain light.

A dark wood frame suits a pale wall and lets the black lines hold the room. On a bedroom wall near the bed you notice the long horizon and the quiet water first. The soft light keeps the blue tones quiet at night.
