Air Frame — Fine Art

Air Frame - 1965 shows a sheet of thin paint laid across the work. Wide bands of colour meet softer areas, and the edges stay loose. The picture feels open, as if the paint was soaked into the ground. Helen Frankenthaler built this kind of field painting by pouring and brushing thin colour onto raw canvas.
