Albatross

Albatross - 1973 shows long painted bands stacked across the sheet. The stripes move at different widths and the color shifts from one band to the next. Gene Davis built his name on this kind of vertical color rhythm.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The frame finish can follow the room. A light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture both let the color bands sit without extra noise.

On a kitchen wall the stripes pull the eye up and down between the counter and the upper cabinets. The painted rhythm stays clear from the table and from the doorway.
