Angelus domini nuntiavit mariæ — Fine Art

The title Angelus domini nuntiavit mariæ points to the angel greeting Mary. Alfred Manessier worked in the post war French abstract tradition, where marks and colour areas build a scene without a clear outline.

The fine art print comes with a white, wood, dark wood or black frame. The frame finish gives the sheet a clear edge on the wall, so the picture reads as a complete object rather than a loose page. A dark wood frame keeps the grey marks steady.

On a hallway wall above the coat hooks, the broad areas read from the mirror at the end. Closer, the smaller lines show the hand behind the marks. The religious title stays quiet next to the coats and the daily noise of the hall.
