Bb #8 - 1962 by Karl Benjamin sets rectangular colour blocks against a flat field. Bold edges separate the shapes, and the space between them stays open.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The eye reads the blocks one after the other before settling in the empty area. Hard edge colour painting gives the layout its order.

The white frame keeps the edges sharp without pulling focus from the shapes. On a study wall the blocks read clearly from the desk, and the open space above them stays calm.
