Beach Baskets in Holland 1904

Beach Baskets in Holland 1904 shows simple beach huts with a few dark outlines on a plain ground. Wassily Kandinsky painted this scene while he was moving toward abstraction.

The forms are steady and the picture feels calm. The fine art print keeps those lines clear and the surface stays flat so the marks read easily.

A light frame works on a darker wall, while a darker frame suits a pale wall. It fits on the landing wall near the stair handrail, where the huts come into view as you walk past.
