Black in Deep Red

Black in Deep Red - 1957 shows two large colour blocks set against each other on the sheet. The upper band holds a deep red that fades toward the lower field. A darker shape rests near the bottom edge. The painted edges shift a little where the brush moved slowly.

The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white finish keeps the edge close to the red field without cutting it off. A black finish gives the picture a clear border that stops the colours from spreading past the sheet.

Hang it on a hallway wall where you pass it every morning. From the door the two colour bands read as one broad shape. Step closer and the painted edge shows a small change in pressure.
