Blue Balls

Blue Balls by Sam Francis shows a blue field set against a pale ground. The blue sits in broad sweeps rather than a single smooth block. A few lighter patches break up the tone so the sheet does not read as one flat colour.

The paper is matte, so the blue holds its tone without shine under a lamp. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail. You do not need a frame. The print arrives ready to hang as a fine art sheet.

Step back from a wall and the blue field reads as one steady colour. Move closer and the lighter patches and small shifts in tone come through. A quiet corner with soft daylight keeps the blue from going harsh and lets the sweeps stay open.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
