Bolo

Bold paint strokes cover the surface of Bolo - Tachisme, building a field of rough marks in dark tones. The title points to tachisme, the loose paint work Emil Schumacher made across his career.

The print sits inside a frame with a back panel. A fine art print like this holds the painted grain and the breaks in the paint.

On a hallway landing wall, the broad strokes read as a single dark band, while the small ridges in the paint stay visible under the light from the stairwell.
